Entering Tortage:
This zone is Multiplayer, so you will see other players run to and fro. For PvP server players you cannot be attacked in The Tortage zone, but any of the instances off of it you can be. This is also a great time to readjust your graphics. The jungle you just finished may seem nice, but it’s Tortage that’s a memory hog. Set your video controls so that you can easily move about tortage with a good framerate. If you have a good framerate here, youll be find for the majority of the game.
Run down to the main gate of Tortage, speak with the guard Laranga. He says ‘No way!’. Now go to Turach whom you passed on the way to the main Tortage Gate. He sends you on a quest to get some blocks. Head down the road and kill Pirates (AGAIN WITH THE P’s). They are level 5 and die quickly, can easily take 2 – 3 at a time...but they can respawn on you if you stay still too long. Keep killing them as they drop lev 5-9 armor and weapons. Get yourself a nice set then move to the back where the glowing blocks of stone are. When you get there an invisible demon will attack you and appear (yes, hes meant to be invisible, its not a bug). Kill it and get 3 blocks and return to Turach. With the blocks your slave chains are cut and you will now be allowed through the gates and into Tortage and receive a quest from the lovestruck Laranga.
As soon as you go through the gates, go to the first building on your right. That is the Thirsty Dog Inn. This Bar will be your main base for the next 15 levels. Sorry guys, no bar fights here. Inside you will find your Class trainer. Go and speak with him/her inside and begin your destiny quest line.
As I mentioned above, your destiny questline is a solo play part of the game. Because of server crowding, PvP server ganking, and the fact that you must complete this questline in order to leave and move on in the game… I plan to focus as much leveling in the solo play as possible. Talk to your trainer and choose the Tortage: Nighttime.
As soon as you zone into Tortage night the first thing you ought to do is SELL!. Inventory space is WAY limited early on. There is a vendor in the Bar , just down the stairs, sell everything you don’t need. Talk to your class trainer again. This time you’ll be off to find the old Sage ‘Nadini’
In the nighttime instance there are a few roaming lev 20 guards. Don’t worry about them, they don’t agro. Move through the streets towards Nadini’s house. Be sure to wave to the harlots on the balconies above! “Hello pretty Harlot!” Speak with Nadini, and back to your class trainer. This happens a lot….Be prepared for a lot of running back and forth to your trainer.
It is now where all the different classes start to Diverse in their Destiny quest storyline. Everyone has a different quest trainer
Rogues: Tina
Fighters: Sigurd (Behind the bar, serving manly coctails)
Mages: Cramaleico
Priests: Belesa
In order to continue, It is now time for you to set up some of your Abilities.
Open up your abilities Tab and you’ll see several abilities with points to spend in each. These include
Bandage: Increases HP regeneration (out of combat)
Recovery: Increase Stamina regeneration with the REST ability
Sprint: Lowers the stamina cost from sprinting
Run Speed: increase your normal movement speed
Climbing Skill: Beanstalk required.
Hiding Skill: increase chance to avoid detection. (Rouges only)
Renew Mana: increases your mana Regen (Priests and Mages)

Learning to Sneak
You are now sent to meet Arias in the Harbor. This is an exercise in learning how to sneak. It’s a good time to look at your abilities.
For level 1-20 it is my suggestion you put them in stealth and climbing. The rest don’t really have a significant gameplay effect until upper level play. Hit CTR-Left click to maximize hiding and climbing. The rest can go into whichever you like.
Now hit the hiding skill and woooosh! (seriously, you go woosh)…you are now hiding. Movement while hidden takes stamina for every class except rogues. So you non rogues should only use it close to where you’ll need it. Also take a look at your light meter. It’s the small diamond at the bottom of your mini-map. It tells you how lit an area is. The lighter the diamond, the tougher it is to hide and remain hidden.
Ok, off to the harbor to meet Arias. Use the minimap to find your way. When you see the ships I suggest your start hiding. You’ll go under a large boat on stilts and across the bridge right past the agro lev 9 troops. When you cross the bridge you’ll cut to the storyline movie of Arias being arrested. Even the old men are on steroids in this game! Then head back to your trainer (you can unstealth). Remember the harlots…wave baby wave!
Learning to climb
Your trainer now wants you to spy from the rooftops. Head out to the yellow X (don’t go to the grey one!). You will be passing 4 lev 6 guards to your right along the way, watch for them and sneak past! When you get to the yellow X you’ll see a bodyguard…he is standing at the climb point. Kill him and take a look at the ladder. You can click the ladder itself or hit ‘U’ on your keyboard and you’ll start climbing. When climbing you can also go Left or Right on ladders…however on some you’ll fall off if you do so. Climb up and fight your way through the line of guards on the rooftops (Feel free to kill any chimney sweeps as well ...Take that Poppins!). At the end you’ll drop down to a ledge and another storyline movie will start. Enjoy the dialogue that would make any Middle School drama coach proud, and run/sneak back to your trainer (try not to agro guards, if you do, just outrun them or zone back into the bar).
Fighters
After pounding a few Budweisers and counting the carbs, Siguard sends you to White sands isle to find Arias. To get to white sands isle you head to the harbor and take a left. Follow the warf all the way till you run out of warf and hit the beach. There is an abandoned rowboat (the same one used in 'The Little Mermaid' for the 'kiss the girl' musical extravaganza). Click it and your off to the White Sands Isle instance.
Using the minimap you can find Arias in the southern part of the instance. Head all the way east and then head south killing as you go. First gorilla on your right, You'll run into him. He's being beaten to a bloody pulp. De-pulpify him by killing the guards. Speak with him and he sends you back to the bar and Sigurd. Before you leave White sands Isle MAXIMIZE YOUR XP..KILL EVERYTHING. There is a panthar pict boss in the main pict encampment ..who drops...nothing (feh, some boss)
In the bar, you now head to the Harbor after Captain Phoenic (Capt Feeble). Speak with him and he tells you to find the boy Shi-Ku who is poisoned, quarentined and hiding at the lighthouse (talk about having a bad day). So its off to the Lighthouse. Head to the warf and turn Right. Follow the warf as it turns to the left. When it does, look for a small alley on your right that leads towards the hills, go in and find the REZ point (This way you wont have to rez all the way back at the Tortage gates...oh, silly me, what am I saying...surely you wont die!) Continue down the warf and you'll run into Valerius (whom you may remember from such exciting movies as Thelma and Loiuse II). Both you and she fight the guards as you move to the lighthouse. At the lighthouse kill the captain at the front door and loot the key. Talk with Shi-Ku and then head back to the bar.
Mages
In the Bar you meet your Mage trainer Cramaleico, who introduces himself as a mage of the 4th circle ...which isnt all that impressive when you consider there are 80 levels in this game. However your stuck with him. he sends you off to white sands isle to rescue Arias.
Arias will be close to a rez point, its up the first steps you come across (This way you wont have to rez all the way back at the boat...oh, silly me, what am I saying...surely you wont die!). go up the second set of stairs just south of the first set and youll run into Arias whos being beaten to a bloody pulp. De-pulpify him by killing the guards. Speak with him and he sends you back to the bar and Cramaleico. Before you leave White sands Isle MAXIMIZE YOUR XP..KILL EVERYTHING. There is a panthar pict boss in the main pict encampment ..who drops...nothing (feh, some boss)
Back at the Bar, Cramaleico wants you to buddy up with the Evil sorceress Mithrell. He sends you up to Mithrell's mansion to endear yourself to her graces. Head out of the main gate, and turn left. Up the hillside (wave to the worthless priests who never heals you as you pass), Cross the bridge and up the path. you should run into lev 5 guards. If you run into panthers or green mist you've gone the wrong way. Enter the mainsion. Obviously the best way to endear yourself to Mithrell is to slaughter everyone residing in her house. Kill everyone upstairs and down to maximize XP (But dont get blood stains on the carpet). Mithrell is located on the bottem right side. Speak with her. Flatter Her. Do NOT tell her that robe makes her hips look huge (...it does).
She will send you off to collect 3 items. Leave the mansion. The first item is a flower immediatly to your left (So close she should have picked them herself). Then head into tortage and after going through the gate head to the right and straight down the steps. There is a dead man in a cage (Because dead men are so dangerous...only a steel cage can protect the community). Click the cage. Then turn left and head towards the market. As soon as you cross the first bridge youll see an ally to your left. Turn left and head in. There you will see a find a captive about to be executed when Valarius comes in (you may remember her from her oscar winning portrayal as Zombie #4 in the movie Zombie VS Ninja ). Speak with Valarius and head back to MIthrell's Mansion. Before leaving please appreciate the lynched man dangling above you (I know I did). Enter the mansion (everyone's still dead..pity) and speak with Mithrell who will then spill the details of her nefarious schemes to you (and why not...you brought her flowers). Head back to Cramaleico at the bar.
Priests
Speak with Belesa at the Bar and she will send you off to white sands isle to meet up with Arias and give him a healing potion.
You'll find Arias sitting peacefully at a campfire looking quite healthy and not in need of any healing. Speak with him and give him the potion (Maked Jack Daniel's). He sends you back to Belesa at the Bar. Before you leave White sands Isle MAXIMIZE YOUR XP...KILL EVERYTHING. There is a panthar pict boss in the main pict encampment ..who drops...nothing (feh, some boss).
At the bar, Belesa now sends you to pick a flower to give you Ninus. Head out of the main gate, and turn left. Up the hillside (wave to the worthless priest who never heals you as you pass...oh, thats Ninus!), Cross the bridge and up the path past the campsite. you want to follow the first trail on your LEFT. You should see black panthers. If you run into lev 5 guard's you've gone too far. Fight through the Panthers (they may be 1 - 2 levels above you so take them one at a time) and follow the path to the end. Pick the flower and head back to Ninus (not the Bar). You will find Ninus being flogged by guards (Like any good priest should be). Kill the guards and speak with Ninus. The head to Shi-khu who is right behind Ninus in the temple. Give him the flower (A great present surely to be appreciated by any 10 yr old boy). The you head back to the Bar and to Belesa.
Continuing ON
Ok next part, talk to your trainer, then talk to the boy at the door (Shi-khu, why cant we just call him over). Then head out to find Arias in the hills outside Tortage. Leave through the main gates and turn left, up the hill, past the temple, across the bridge (…..Over the hills and through the woods…er, scratch that). On the other side of the bridge (pretty water effects) you’ll see Arias by the campfire. Speak with him and its off to the Volcano Instance to find the slavemaster. Keep heading up the hill past Arias’ camp fighting scorpions and NPC guards (If you see panthers, you’ve gone the wrong way). At the end of the path up the mountain is the volcano instance. Enter it
Volcano Instance (part1).
Things start to get challenging here. You can now die. Before you were like superman..well, now your more like the Tick. The guards/slaves are tougher. You can take 2…but three is likely hard times. Remember to watch for the patrols and pull with your ranged abilities (Bow, spells, etc). Don’t let casters go untouched…kill them first!
There are two paths in the Volcano instance, one goes left up the mountain and then you climb a ladder…and the other across a bridge and around the side. To Maximize your XP in the nighttime solo play, I suggest you DO BOTH. To get to the slavemaster, head across the bridge and follow the path...killing as you go (and whistling while you work). NOTE: The tents MAY have slaves inside...get too close to one and you’ll agro. Also there are no respawns, so don’t worry and take your time. There are several Ladders which lead down close to the lava…DON’T GO INTO THE LAVA, TICK!! There is no reason at this time to climb down any ladder, just stay on the path. Ok, so Kill slavemaster and ALL NPCS for max XP (Both upper and lower paths) and return to Arias.
When you get to Arias and gain the XP you should be at or very close to lev 10. If your not, go out and kill scorpions and panthers until you ding. At lev 10 there used to be a vendor who sold uber (blue) magic armor and weapons (Uber being relative to a lev 10) however, they seemed to have recently taken him out of the game..sorry guys. Remember to sell and open up some inventory space.
Time to completion, about 1.5 hours
